About
A bath complex rose on the northwest edge of the Sanctuary of Apollo during Trajan's reign, its hypocaust floors still visible today. Bathers here numbered among the last Cyreneans to enjoy the sanctuary before the Jewish revolt convulsed the city in 115-116 CE. The baths were among the newest buildings standing in Cyrene when Trajan died in August 117 CE. Hadrian later enlarged and restored them.
