Statio Beneficiariorum Acimincum
Beneficiarii StationPannonia Inferior · Stari Slankamen, SerbiaBuilt 110 CE
About
A beneficiarius consularis manned a statio beside the auxiliary fort at Acimincum, watching the Danube road upriver from Sirmium. Soldiers posted here answered to the governor of Pannonia Inferior rather than to the fort's own auxiliary commander. The post checked travelers and freight moving along the frontier highway between the legionary bases of the Danube limes. It formed one link in a chain of beneficiarius posts that the governor's staff strung along the river.
