About
Miletus's largest bathhouse, built and funded decades after Trajan's death by Faustina the Younger, wife of emperor Marcus Aurelius, around the mid-to-late 2nd century CE. Its three great halls held frigidarium, tepidarium, and caldarium beneath soaring vaults. In 117 CE this whole quarter of the city was still open ground; the empress who gave it her name would not even be born for another decade.
