About
East of the forum, Sufetula built a paired bathing complex with separate summer and winter suites linked by a mosaic-floored palaestra measuring 27 by 17 meters. Cruciform hot rooms sat on raised brick piers with clay ducts piping heat beneath bathers' feet. Construction continued into the early 3rd century CE, well after the town's Antonine growth. In 117 CE none of this bathing complex had been built.
