A grand thermal bath complex rose south of Serdica's agora, its hypocaust floors and a sizeable pool coming to light during 2010-2012 metro excavations beneath today's St Nedelya Square. Archaeologists date the build to the late 2nd or early 3rd century, part of the city's post-Trajanic construction surge. That places it decades after the 117 CE snapshot, even on ground Trajan's own municipium had already claimed.
