About
Salona's largest public baths, the Great Thermae, rose in the eastern quarter no earlier than the late 2nd century, decades after our 117 CE snapshot. The finished complex packed three separate frigidaria plus a caldarium, tepidarium and a massage room called the unctorium into one riverside block. A visitor touring Salona in 117 CE would have found this entire stretch of the city still undeveloped ground.
